ING Wholesale Banking hosted its 10th Investment Forum
Prague, December 11th, 2007 –ING hosted its 10th Investment Forum during the last week of November in Prague. The Forum focuses on the developing European markets and from the global point of view is considered as one of the most important annual ING events. Over eighty-eight leading companies from across the whole region presented themselves to almost three hundred major institutional investors. The Forum was opened on Monday 26th November with a keynote speech given by the former President of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev.
Each year, this Investment Forum is perceived as one of the most important key events of ING organised in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). It aims to enable meetings of investors and emitents, either through presentations or 1:1 meetings. Speakers from the political and economic sphere introduced investment opportunities of firms and presented topics which included the most important investment events at the EMEA markets in the given period.
The keynote speech by Mikhail Gorbachev set the key idea of the entire Forum. The former president warned about the continuously strained relations between Russia and the West which are reflected in the price of the Russian assets (funds). His speech was met by a great interest from the audience.
“Our EMEA Forum has become one of the key events of the year, which always reserves place in the diaries of the investors and corporates alike", says Dariusz Chrzastowski, the Head of Equity Markets. "The aim of the meeting is both to strengthen the existing client and corporate relationships with ING as well as to create new relationships.”
Among the ING hosts of the Forum were Eric Boyer de la Giroday, Member of the Executive Board responsible for Wholesale Banking, William Connelly, Director of Corporate Finance & Equity Markets activities worldwide and Dariusz Chrzastowski, Head of Equity Markets.
