RPG Real Estate Has New Chief Executive Officer
Tony Aksich became the new Chief Executive Officer of RPG Real Estate group; he has more than twenty years of experience in executive positions in real estate, developer and logistics companies. He came to the Czech Republic from Canada.
“We expect that Tony’s arrival to our real estate division will mean a successful implementation of our recently adopted group strategy with respect to the development of our residential portfolio, property management and appreciation of commercial properties, as well as in the field of property development,” Zdeněk Bakala who represents the parent RPG group said about Tony Aksich’s appointment. “We are confident that his experience and management capabilities will be a great asset to the whole group.”
Tony Aksich succeeds Petr Skrla as Chief Executive Officer; Petr Skrla had led the group since the spin-off of non-mining assets from OKD, a.s. Petr Skrla’s task was to transform the group and stabilise it so that it can be developed in the future.
“After eighteen months of work – “designing” the new real estate group from the building blocks of non-operating assets of OKD and the initiation of the development potential of these assets – it became apparent that we needed to quickly bring in an experienced professional who would give the group further strategic direction and make it a member of the club of the largest European property groups, because that is where, given the size of its assets, it rightly belongs,” says Petr Skrla who stays on as Executive Director for Portfolio Management and Development and for Property Management. His main task will now be to provide for the group’s operation and focus on the generation of high-potential investment opportunities.
Before his arrival to RPG Real Estate, Tony Aksich worked in Giffels (2001 – 2008), first as Director for Eastern Region and later as Senior Vice President for Residential Projects. Giffels, a part of Ingenium, is a company active in project design, construction and financing of large scale industrial and residential projects. The professional career of Tony Aksich began in 1978 in Canadian Pacific Limited where he worked until 2001, taking only a short circumvention in 1978-1981 when he worked for Alcan Aluminium. Tony Aksich earned his MBA in Finance and Marketing at McGill University, Montreal, and he also studied Economics at Concordia University, Montreal. He is member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Tony Aksich speaks English and French, is married and has two children.
